Gynandromorph by e11e-k Gynandromorph by e11e-k
*edit*
Oh wow, my first DD! So exciting! Geez I'm on here almost every day and I happen to miss the day I actually get a DD! Thanks so much for all the views, favs, and watches!!! :D

Gynandromorph. An organism that contains both male and female characteristics. The term gynandromorph, from Greek "gyne" female and "andro" male. These characteristics can be seen in butterflies, where both male and female characteristics can be seen physically because of sexual dimorphism.
Tiger swallowtail: Males are yellow with black stripes, while females appear a dark blue.

Is that really what it looks like when a butterfly is both genders? That's almost... cartoony. Do you know what I mean?

really interesting isn't it? sometimes truth/science really is wackier than fiction!

it only looks that unusual if the males and females of the species look very different.

and i found pictures with other creatures too, it is mighty freaky

A week ago I discovered bilateral gynandromorphism and I have been so fascinated with it- when I saw this picture I was like, "I know why it looks like that!!" this is really well done!!

isn't it facinating?!

when i stumbled upon it by chance i thought it was a fake at first- that someone had glued two halves together.

But its such a rare beauty in itself, quite interesting

markers are a challenging medium- since once you put a color down there is no going back!

i am definitely still learning techniques, so i use photoshop as a crutch to clean it up a bit!

thannks for the compliments!

Well, it's a naturalistic drawing of butterflies which look like photographs and have some breathtaking details. I guess that's the reason.

Well, considering this is traditional and done with markers, saying you can do it in paint isn't really a good argument for saying this isn't art. Mostly, there's no Ctrl + Z on paper. ;P On top of the fact that it would be extremely difficult to pixel with this much detail, so if you do, then by all means post it and I'll be the first to nominate you for a DD.

I think beyond the artistic skill of this, it's also very interesting and educational. I wasn't aware that butterflies could do this and show the two different genders through different wing types on the same organism. I think it's simply fascinating.

But like others said, I also think you're a troll, given your comment, reply, and username.
